In this derby match but fiery encounter of a cup tie, the fireworks were set of on the eve of bonfire night. The match started off with Athletico Ince being the team in control of the match and with this they scored an early goal form a free kick as the ball was floated over to the near post an Ince striker headed the ball across the face of goal to the far post for his strike partner who was unmarked to score in an empty net. After this Ince had more and more pressure with a few strikes at goal, causing the Amberswood goalkeeper William Hoey to produce some magnificent saves to keep Amberswood in it. Darren Ainscough carrying the ball out from defence and Chris Gregson were the brightest lights in this Amberswood team, who struggled to cope with Athletico Ince. As the second half kicked off, Amberswood seemed to have more determination and started to produce more attacking football, but it was Athletico Ince who capitalised and scored a second as Darren Ainscough carried the ball out of defence and passed the ball on to Dean Tomlinson, an Athletico Ince nipped in before the ball reached Dean Tomlinson and intercepted the ball and passed the ball to the left winger who crossed the ball into the Amberswood box, captain John Warburton who was covering for Darren Ainscough in the centre of defence attempted to chest the ball down, but only managed to chest the ball into the path of the Athletico Ince striker coming in behind him, for him to cushion the ball past a helpless William Hoey from six yards out.
Amberswood got a goal back almost straight away after Darren Ainscough again carried the ball out of defence and played the ball behind the left fullback for Chris Gregson to chase and as the ball was moving towards the box, the Athletico Ince goalkeeper came out to meet him, but could only bring Chris Gregson down inside the box for a penalty.
With the referee considering what action to take against the goalkeeper for possibly denying a goalscoring opportunity, Amberswood players felt as though he should have been sent off, but athletico Ince captain said something to Amberswoods Shane Clark, which resulted in Shane Clark allegedly headbutting him and duly being sent off, the Athletico Ince goalkeeper got a yellow card. Darren Ainscough stepped up and scored the penalty sending the keeper the wrong way.
Within minutes a fight broke out in the middle of the field between Amberswoods Rick Surples and Athletico Inces Ryan Stannistreet resulting in both being sent off. With Amberswood down to nine men and Ince with ten men, it was Amberswood who were pushing forward and looked more likely to score, but there were no more goals and Athletico Ince progressed to the next round.
Final Score: Amberswood 1 Athletico Ince 2 A game of two halves as Athletico Ince should have had it wrapped up in the first, while Amberswood with a man less for most of the second half had the better of it.
Man Of The Match: Darren Ainscough who comfortably was carrying the ball out of defence to start off attacks and was brilliant defensively.
