  Athletico Ince Home

Full sized view

This was a game that Amberswood were on a hiding to nothing, after being defeated earlier in the season by six goals and the majority of Amberswoods squad out on the town the day before celebrating the captains birthday.

It really showed as Athletico Ince had chance after chance, but Amberswood struggled to get out of their own half, and after about twenty minutes, Amberswood really thought they might get something out of this game after an Athletico Ince missed an open goal from about seven yards out.

Amberswood created a couple of half chances from distance with Dean Tomlinson coming the closest to hitting the target, but with about thirty five minutes gone, Athletico Ince struck the fatal blow with a goal coming after a mix up in the Amberswood defence allowed the striker to fire the ball past a helpless Danny Hilton.

At half time, Amberswood still thought they could get something out of the game even though they hadn't played well at all, but all those thoughts disappeared after Athletico Ince scored a penalty and a third goal coming in from the left wing and blasting the ball into the net.

After a couple of substitutions involving, both centre forwards, Amberswood did score a conselation goal, after substitute Chris Harris causing a few problems with his non stop running in the Athletico Ince defence, Adam Corfield controlled a poor clearance before volleying the ball goalwards, only on the way it took a deflection and looped over the Athletico Ince goalkeeper.

There was still time for Athletico to score a fourth and bury Amberswood, this time straight down the middle and cap off a poor and miserable performance.

Final Score: Amberswood 1 Athletico Ince 4 Athletico Ince could have hit double figures if the strikers were clinical, Amberswoods front men were really non existent.

Man Of The Match: Captain John Warburton who never stopped running all game even though he was chasing a lost cause.
