Balcarres Away

As the first half kicked off, both teams were lacking self confidence and were struggling, but after fifteen minutes Balcarres broke the deadlock with the little rapid striker who ran past two defendrs and knocked the ball past the Amberswood goalkeeper.

From the restart Amberswoods Antony Whitton passed the ball back to Darren Ainscough and as Darren Ainscough mis-controlled the ball, the Balcarres fast little striker went clean through and converted a second goal.

Amberswood grabbed a goal back attempting to make a game of it and it was all Rick Surples own work as he chased a lost cause on the left wing position and bullied the defender off the ball beforeturning back inside away from the defendera firing the ball from the left corner of the eighteen yard box over the Balcarres goalkeeper and into the roof of the net.

Amberswood tightened up for a few minutes keeping Balcarres at arms length from their goal, but the floodgates soon opened for another three more opportunities, which they duly converted and put the game beyond doubt.

Amberswood were playing the second half for some pride and respect only as the result was already secured by Balcarres.

Amberswood manager tried a change in formation by tightening the midfield by playing a diamond shape in midfield, which seemed to tighten the game up and in the second half and it was Amberswood who looked the more promising side and soon grabbed a second goal through top scorer Antony Whitton as Rick Surples crossed the ball into the box, Antony Whitton took one touch before slotting the ball past the Balcarres goalkeeper.

Balcarres before the end added a sixth goal to deny Amberswood a second half victory, but all the damage to Amberswoods chances of winning this game were all but gone in the first half.

Final Score: Balcarres 6 Amberswood 2 A game where Amberswood in the first half could'nt cope with Balcarres nippy and skillful little striker.

Man Of The Match: Paul Stringer who was involved in everything Amberswood did in an attacking sense and also helped out in midfield.
