Division 3 Belle Green Away

In the first half Amberswood were rampant especially down the right wing, where John Warburton was causing Belle Green some serious problems as Belle Greens Phil Cunniffe was forever kicking the ball into touch after being chased down by John Warburton. And John Warburton was the man who scored the first goal, but the danger came down the opposite wing as Dean Ainscough received the ball and Carl Stocks started to make an overlapping run, Dean Ainscough waited till the last possible moment before playing Carl stocks in, and as the Belle Green defence was split open, Carl Stocks played the ball along the ground for Sammer Ahmed To make it one nil, But Sammer Ahmed missed the ball completely and the incoming John Warburton ghosted in and slotted the ball home.

As Amberswood were getting more and more confident, the highly influencial Payam Doustani started to weave his magic and find space with ease and although John Warburton was causing Belle Green serious problems down the right, the second goal also came from Amberswoods left side, with Carl Stocks and Dean Ainscough, not actually chasing the ball down but conjuring up some magic of their own as Dean Ainscough again received the ball, he floated a cross into the box straight onto Payam Doustani's head, who had to back header the ball over the advancing keeper and into an empty net.

Amberswood seemed like they could score at will in the first half, but just before half time, it was Belle Green who struck back as the Amberswood keeper was caught cold and had nothing to do, Darren Ainscough cleared a long throw-in, but Belle Green lobbed the ball back into the box and Kyle Gilles latched onto the loose ball and slotted home from close range giving the Amberswood keeper no chance.

The second half started and Belle Green upped their performance in search of the equaliser, but it was always Amberswood who looked more likely to score with Craig Gilligan and Payam Doustani causing problems up front. Then as Belle Green started to pile more pressure on the Amberswood defence, it was Amberswood who came up with the third goal after good work in the middle from Payam Doustani and Dean Ainscough and Carl Stocks down the left, the ball found its way into the Belle Green penalty area and after a scramble Craig Gilligan slotted home into the corner to make it three one. As Amberswood sat on a comfortable lead Belle Green started an assault on the Amberswood goal and were soon gifted a penalty by the referee, which Amberswood manager Phil Atherton was fuming about as Amberswood keeper William Hoey tipped a shot that was already going wide round the post form the resulting corner, Phil Atherton thought the Amberswood keeper was clearly fouled by a Belle Green player as the ball was floated in from the corner, but the referee failed to see it and Darren Ainscough was forced to throw in a last ditch tackle, but was adjudged to have fouled the player. Kieron Walsh stepped up and fired the ball with pace and power, but William Hoey was equal to it. Amberswood also had a golden opportunity, when they attacked down the left hand side with Payam Doustani dancing round the Belle Green defence like they were a set of traffic cones before squaring the ball to the incoming Chris Gregson who failed to make contact. Belle Green had a couple more opportunities which were comfortably dealt with by Amberswood keeper William Hoey, and were then given a second penalty after the ball bounced up and Darren Ainscough put his body towards the ball to control it, but the referee assumed he had handled it and pointed to the spot. Amberswood manager Phil Atherton already fuming earlier was livid when Steven Turner scored from the spot, as Steven Turner hit the spot kick towards goal, it hit the post and bounced straight back to him with the Amberswood keeper on the floor he put the ball into the empty net. In the rule book, it states that, before the player that takes the spot kick can touch the ball again, the ball must first be touched by another player, therefore the goal should have been dissallowed.

In the end Amberswood got the three points they deserved. Final Score Belle Green 2 Amberswood 3.
