Amberswood FC on a four match unbeaten run were determined not to let this come to an end, and from the kick-off were putting the Higher Ince defence under pressure. With Higher Ince packing the midfield, Amberswood got the ball out wide to John Warburton and Sadegh Ramazani at every opportunity, switching the ball from left to right and vice versa. After both teams having limited chances in the first twenty minutes, it was Amberswood who drew first blood and it came from wide player Sadegh Ramazani, as the ball was played in to Payam Doustani's feet, Payam Doustani produced some majestic touches to free the wide players and on this instance, he passed the ball into John Warburton's path, who squared the ball on the edge of the box to Craig Gilligan, whose first touch to control it and second touch to set Sadegh Ramazani coming in from the right wing free took a deflection off a Higher Ince defender, but Sadegh Ramazani chested the ball back into his own path and placed the over the onrushing keeper and into the top far corner of the net.
Amberswood struck again minutes later, after some one touch passing between Payam Doustani, John Warburton and Dean Ainscough, left Payam Doustani in acres of space near the left corner flag and as he danced around a couple of defenders and squared the ball across the face of goal to Craig Gilligan, who tapped the ball home from a couple of yards.
Both sides had a couple of long range efforts each, but it was Amberswood who was on top and they scored a third goal and it was Craig Gilligan again the scorer, this time the goal came from a terrible goal kick as Craig Gilligan recieved a poor goal kick and was bearing down on goal, the Higher Ince goalkeeper came to meet him, he chipped the ball over the keeper and into the net.
After half time , with the wind against Amberswood and Higher Ince changing formation, it was always going to be more difficult to score more goals and as it was, Higher Ince were the team who put the ball into the net, as the Amberswood defence were diving in all over the place, the ball ran loose to the Higher Ince striker and put him clean through, the Higher Ince striker cooly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner of the net for a consolation goal.
Both sides had a couple more opportunities, but the keepers were equal to them, the game was marred by too many challenges going unpunished and game getting out of the referee's control in the second half, But by this time the result was never in doubt.
Final Score: Amberswood 3 Higher Ince 1
Man Of The Match: Payam Doustani who ran the game from start to finish by opening up the Higher Ince defence on numerous occasions and his skill and ability mesmirrised the opposition time and time again.
