Royal Scot scored in the first minute of the match as Amberswood were caught napping as the striker went straight through the middle and slotted home leaving keeper Ian Porter helpless.
With Amberswood's defence and midfield all at sea and Royal Scots wingers tearing strips off Amberswood's fullbacks the second goal soon followed, as Royal Scots right winger picked the ball up midway into the Amberswood half, he skipped past a couple of defenders before rifling it into the net.
It was all Royal Scot and within twenty minutes Amberswood were three down after a free kick from the right hand side was floated into the box and a Royal Scot striker ghosted into the box and left keeper Ian Porter stranded. The Amberswood team and management were fearing another heavy defeat at the hands of Royal Scot, but picked themselves up and contested the rest of the first half and there were chances for both sides.
Just before half time Sadegh Ramazani made a run in the right channel and received the ball, as the Royal Scot defender came to oppose him , he moved the ball towards the byeline and scooped the ball towards the far post, where incoming John Warburton netted a simple tap -in to make the half time score three-one to Royal Scot.
At half-time the Amberswood manager had a couple of things to sort out, one was how to contain the wingers and the other was how to make the ball stick up-front. Amberswood manager Phil Atherton told his fullbacks to stay on their feet and make the winger beat them instead of maiking it easy by diving in. the most notable change was a positional change with winger John Warburton and striker Saedegh Ramazani changing positions. Every Amberswood player gave 120% effort and the change helped centre midfielder Sammer Ahmed to be able to get the ball down and play football.
John Warburton and Craig Gilligan started to apply some serious pressure on Royal Scots Back four and the Amberswood fullbacks had Royal Scots wingers in their pockets in the second half.
While Royal Scot were just punting the ball high in the air Ben Stocks and Phil Cunniffe coped with this very easily. As Amberswood manager Phil Atherton was about to make a change Ian Porter played a significant long ball and Craig Gilligan sped onto it and comfortably lifted the ball over the advancing keeper t o make it three two.
Amberswood made a substitution and a positional change for the worst as John Warburton was moved back to the wing position. But with about 15 minutes to go, Amberswood made another substitution and a change in formation which contributed to the equaliser, as they went 4-3-3 and moved John Warburton back up-front in a three man strike force. Defender Danny Taylor played a long ball right into the heart of the Royal Scot defence and John Warburton rose between two defenders and caught the advancing keeper in no mans land. Craig Gilligan should have won it for Amberswood when he was put clean through by Substitute Chris Cunniffe but fired into the side netting. Craig Gilligan was sent off just before the final whistle for dissent. Amberswood Man Of The Match:John Warburton.
