Royal Scot Away

Amberswood started the game better than expected as they had an under strength team, they created hardly any chances throughout the whole game, but defended with tremendous resilliance.

In the first half Amberswood also restricted Royal Scot to a limited amount of chances, but the first goal came from a fluke shot after about fifteen minutes, with the second goal coming after about twenty five minutes.Amberswood with the game beyond them from then on and manager Phil Atherton their only substitute seemed to be struggling and with Dean Tomlinson carrying injury.

Amberswood made a change at half time, which seemed to have the opposite effect, moving the energetic top goalscorer John Warburton into midfield to try and keep possession a little more but struggled to find the outlet further forward to take the pressure off.

With Amberswood being two goals down at half time, Amberswood were really trying to keep the score down. Then came another blow, influential central defender Chris Hions picked up an injury, which forced Amberswood to make the substitution they did'nt want to make, putting a forward thinking player on for a defensive minded player.

With Amberswood being four goals down, it was inevitable that it was going to get worse, and with Amberswood putting up a brave defensive fight to no avail as they conceded another four goals.

Final Score: Royal Scot 8 Amberswood 0 A game which Amberswood were never going to win with an under strength side.

Man Of The Match: Barry Jones who was involved in everything going forward as well as in defence.
